HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene): Thinner, lighter and more cost-effective. Offers excellent moisture resistance and suits most general waste applications. Best for paper, packaging and dry waste. Slightly more prone to punctures from sharp objects.

Both materials are recyclable through soft plastic collection programs. Choose HDPE for everyday office waste or LDPE for demanding applications.

Most standard office bins are 54 to 60 litres. Start with 54 litre liners for typical desk-side bins. If your bins are larger or have a tall profile, try 57 or 73 litre options. Check the bin capacity marked on the bin or measure the bin width to confirm.

Gusseted bags have folded sides that expand when opened, conforming better to rectangular bins and providing more usable capacity. Flat bags are simpler and suit round bins or square bins. Both work effectively, but gusseted designs are generally preferred for commercial bins.

Choose HDPE for everyday office waste like paper, packaging and light food scraps. HDPE is thinner, lighter and more cost-effective. Choose LDPE for demanding applications with heavy loads, sharp objects or wet food waste. LDPE is thicker, more flexible and more puncture-resistant.

Natural (translucent) bags allow you to see contents and fill levels. Black bags conceal contents for privacy and suit back-of-house areas. Blue bags are sometimes used for recycling streams or colour-coded waste segregation. Grey bags blend with modern bin aesthetics. Choose based on visibility requirements and location.

Cartons contain 250 to 500 bags depending on size. For a single office bin changed daily (5 days per week), a 250-bag carton lasts approximately 1 year. For facilities with multiple bins, calculate total daily changes across all bins to estimate usage. Most facilities order quarterly or bi-annually.

Both HDPE and LDPE are recyclable through soft plastic collection programs where available. Clean, unused bags can be dropped at REDcycle collection points at participating supermarkets. Used bin liners containing waste should be disposed of in general waste as the contents prevent recycling.
