Product type: Kerbside-recyclable barrier paper
Barrier level: Medium — oxygen and water vapour
Best for: Salt, confectionery, nuts
Disposal: Kerbside and office paper recycling
Also recovers: A clean LDPE fraction
Minimum order: Scoped at quote
Coex paper coating delivers barriers to oxygen (OTR) and water vapour transmission (WVTR) whilst enabling both paper and LDPE recycling. It is designed to recycle just like plain paper, so consumers and businesses can dispose of it safely by simply putting it in with their kerbside and office paper recycling.
The Hydropol layer dissolves in the paper recycling process, which lets the clean LDPE fraction be caught on reject screens and processed for recycling. Full paper fibre yield is recovered with no macro stickies and no coarse or fine rejects. After the layer dissolves it breaks down in wastewater treatment, leaving no microplastics.

How is it recycled?
Place it in your standard kerbside or office paper recycling. The Hydropol coating dissolves during repulping and breaks down in wastewater treatment, leaving no microplastics.
What happens to the LDPE?
Once the coating dissolves, the clean LDPE fraction is caught on reject screens and processed for recycling, while full paper fibre yield is recovered.
Is it compostable?
These papers are designed for paper recycling, not composting. Recyclability is the benefit, so dispose of them with your paper stream.
How does Coex differ from the medium grade?
Both give a medium barrier against oxygen and moisture. Coex also recovers a clean LDPE fraction during recycling.
