Speed up specimen processing with rapid-access tearline technology. This three-wall specimen carrier bag includes a dual pouch design with a perforated tearline strip for quick opening, a sealed specimen compartment and a separate document wallet (document pocket) for request forms.
The blue LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene) film with tearline feature provides high-visibility colour coding and rapid specimen access across collection centres, clinics and laboratories for location-based, department-specific or test-specific specimen identification.
During collection and transport, specimens stay secure in the sealed main compartment while request forms stay separate in the document pocket. The tearline stays intact during transport, providing the same leak resistance as standard zip lock specimen bags.
At laboratory receipt, staff tear along the perforated tearline strip at the top for instant specimen access. This works faster and safer when wearing gloves. The document pocket stays sealed and intact, keeping paperwork separate and readable while staff process specimens.
The tearline perforation delivers a clean, consistent tear every time. Staff avoid struggling with manual bag opening or needing tools to access specimens. This reduces handling time per specimen and speeds processing in high-volume workflows.
Blue film provides instant visual identification during collection, sorting, transport and lab receipt. The printed biohazard symbol, "SPECIMEN ONLY" marking and temperature storage checkboxes (Freeze, Refrigerate, Room Temperature) support accreditation needs and ensure specimens receive proper handling according to facility-specific colour-coding and storage protocols.
Facilities can use blue tearline bags for location-specific identification (different collection sites), department-specific workflows (particular lab sections), or test-specific processing (certain specimen types). The high-contrast blue colour prevents mix-ups during busy processing periods.

The tearline is a perforated strip across the top of the bag. Laboratory staff tear along this line for instant specimen access. The bag stays fully sealed during collection and transport until staff use the tearline.
Tearline bags work best for high-volume laboratories where processing speed matters. Staff open them faster, use them easier while wearing gloves, and reduce handling time per specimen.
The tearline tears cleanly and easily while staff wear laboratory gloves. This reduces handling time and avoids glove removal.
The bag stays fully sealed and leak resistant until staff tear the perforation.
Blue tearline specimen bags meet the same material and compliance standards as standard blue zip lock bags.
Perfect for: High-volume pathology laboratories, busy collection centres, multi-site healthcare facilities with rapid turnaround requirements, colour-coded specimen workflows, departments prioritising processing speed and efficiency.
Colour Coding Standard: Blue for location-specific, department-specific or test-specific identification based on facility protocols.
Best For: Labs processing 100+ specimens daily, time-critical testing workflows, glove-wearing staff requiring tool-free bag opening.
