Frequently Asked Questions
Why are these PLA flexi straws individually wrapped?+

Individual wrapping protects each straw from contamination between storage and delivery to the patient, which supports infection control in clinical and residential care settings. The sealed wrap also makes bedside service easy for staff wearing gloves.

Are PLA flexi straws compostable?+

Yes, but industrially only. PLA straws need a commercial composting facility to break down. They will not compost in a home compost bin and should not be expected to break down in landfill. They are a plant-based bioplastic, not paper.

Can PLA straws be used for hot drinks?+

No. PLA straws are suitable for cold drinks only. Heat causes the straw to soften and lose its shape, so keep them to cold and iced beverages.

Is there a bulk version without individual wrapping?+

Yes. The PLA Flexi Straw White Bulk Pack (PLFSBK) is the same straw supplied loose without individual wrapping, which suits food service and hospitality settings that do not need single-wrapped straws.

How many straws come in a carton and how fast is delivery?+

This individually wrapped straw is supplied 2,500 per carton. Stock ships from our Sydney warehouse within 1 to 2 business days, with most NSW orders arriving in 2 to 3 business days, so wards and facilities can reorder reliably.
