Frequently Asked Questions
What is a 700ml kidney dish used for?+

A kidney dish holds instruments, swabs, dressings, and fluids during clinical procedures, and is also used for emesis and fluid collection. The 700ml capacity and 242 x 128mm shape suit bedside, chairside, and benchtop use.

What is the kidney dish made of?+

It is moulded from sugarcane fibre, also called bagasse, which is the plant material left after sugar is extracted from cane. The dish is latex, wax, and plastic free, so it contains no petroleum plastic.

Is the kidney dish leak resistant and how much fluid does it hold?+

The dish holds up to 700ml and is water resistant, keeping liquid contained for over 24 hours. It is also puncture resistant, so it stays reliable through procedures involving instruments and fluids.

How do I dispose of the kidney dish, and is it compostable?+

Clean, uncontaminated dishes are compostable and help divert waste from landfill, or can go into general waste where composting is not available. If the dish has been used with clinical or contaminated waste, dispose of it through your facility's clinical waste stream according to local protocol.

How many kidney dishes come in a carton and how fast is delivery?+

The kidney dish is supplied 250 per carton. Stock ships from our Sydney warehouse within 1 to 2 business days for fast delivery across Australia, so wards and clinics can reorder in carton lots.
