Bagasse is the fibre left over after sugarcane stalks are crushed to extract juice. Instead of going to waste, this agricultural by-product is processed into strong, rigid plates. Using bagasse reduces reliance on virgin timber and plastic while turning a waste stream into a functional product.

The compartment walls are raised and provide effective separation for most foods. Very liquid sauces in high volume may seep between compartments over time. For dishes with runny gravies, pair with a separate sauce cup.

Yes. These plates are certified home compostable and certified industrially compostable. Home composting means they break down in a backyard compost bin without requiring industrial processing. Industrial composting via a commercial facility is also an option.

Yes. These plates are food grade certified and suitable for direct contact with hot and cold food, oily foods, and wet foods. The bagasse material is naturally oil and water resistant.

The 10 inch (250mm) has a larger overall diameter and is 1mm deeper than the 9 inch (230mm), giving more generous section sizes across the main and both sides. Use the 10 inch for high-appetite portions and buffet service. Use the 9 inch for standard main-and-sides meal service.
