 Frequently Asked Questions
What waste goes in a cytotoxic waste bag?+

Cytotoxic waste bags are used for chemotherapy drugs, contaminated PPE, IV lines, syringes, and any materials that have contacted cytotoxic agents. They must not be mixed with general clinical or anatomical waste.

 Why is this bag purple?+

Purple is the internationally recognised colour for cytotoxic waste. It ensures staff and contractors can identify this waste stream immediately, reducing the risk of mishandling.

How should I seal the bag for collection?+

Tie the open top securely using a gooseneck twist or cable ties before staging for collection. Fill to no more than three-quarters capacity to allow safe closure and handling by specialist contractors.

We dispatch from our Sydney warehouse within 1-2 business days for in-stock items. Most NSW orders arrive within 2-3 business days.
