Kerbside-Recyclable Barrier Paper

Kerbside-Recyclable Barrier Paper

Barrier packaging that actually recycles. The coating washes off in paper recycling so the fibre recovers, with no microplastics.

Kerbside-Recyclable Barrier Paper

Barrier packaging that actually recycles. Most barrier packaging combines plastic, paper and foil in one film, so it cannot be recycled and sheds microplastics. Our kerbside-recyclable barrier papers solve that. The barrier coating washes off during the standard paper recycling process, so the fibre recovers cleanly with no microplastics left behind. It is built on Hydropol, a water-soluble (PVOH) coating, the same dissolvable technology behind Zeropac's water-soluble packaging range, now applied to recyclable paper.

How the Recycling Works

These papers go into your everyday kerbside and office paper recycling stream. During repulping the coating dissolves, then breaks down in wastewater treatment, leaving no microplastics. Full paper fibre yield is recovered with no macro stickies, and where foil or LDPE is present, the clean fraction is caught on reject screens for processing.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is it recycled?

Place it in your standard kerbside or office paper recycling. The Hydropol coating dissolves during repulping and breaks down in wastewater treatment, leaving no microplastics.

Is it compostable?

These papers are designed for paper recycling, not composting. Recyclability is the benefit, so dispose of them with your paper stream.

What barrier levels are available?

From a light barrier for dry goods through to a high metallised barrier for coffee and snacks. Ask us and we will match a grade to your product.

Can I get samples?

Yes. Request samples and a quote and we will recommend the right grade for your product.
